Coda (Pepa from Encanto)
Gender: Female
Date of Birth: January 22, 2022
Breed(s): Husky/ Border Collie Mix (Mom)
Weight: 40 KGS
Kennel Training: Coda goes in her kennel at bedtime but stays loose in the house for up to 8 hours with no incident during waking hours/while mom is gone.
House Training: Coda is fully potty trained but pees a little when she thinks she is in trouble or excited.
Personality: If you need an adventure dog, you need Coda!
This girl loves being outside just as much as she loves chillin with you on the couch! Though she aims to please, she does have those classic husky smarts (aka sass!). Coda has come a LONG way since she was surrendered back to the rescue by her original adoptive family in January, 2022. She is much more confident, she listens very well, and her anxiety is at a minimum!
Walking: Coda walks with a prong collar but is very responsive to it.
Exercise: Coda would benefit from an active household. Walking is great and mentally stimulating for her but she would benefit from some solid running every so often!
Socialization: Coda tends to be very dominant in her own space when new dogs are introduced. For this reason, we think Coda’s ideal (but not required) household would be a single dog household. Public socialization is a total different story! Coda is great for meeting new dogs and people as long as she is gently supported. She likes to play and run with other pooches at rinks or indoor spaces, or even other dogs’ houses! When at the dog park, she was too shy to enjoy it but may do best with dog bud she’s familiar with! Coda likes to play keep away with her toys (from humans, she doesn’t like to give up toys to other dogs).
Kids and cats: We are not sure how Coda is with cats. Though Coda has been around small children for short periods of time, she tends to want to herd them. She also wants her space when napping/lounging and kids that invade that boundary may get a growl, nudge, or gentle (but scary to children) mouthing.
Barking: Coda only really barks when she hears or sees someone outside the yard (good girl!). Sometimes when meeting new folks she barks, but calms down with support from her human. Coda has the husky scream that the internet finds hilarious! Luckily it’s only when she is excited you’re coming home and only sometimes when you leave.
Obedience: Coda’s recall is not bad but needs more work. She can sit, lay, shake, and come. She knows “quiet”, “outside”, “hungry”, “walk”, “kennel”, “treat” and “drop it”.
Coda is totally cute in photos with her unique blue eye and is now just looking for her permanent family!
Medical Care: Fully vaccinated, spayed, dewormed
Adoption Fee: $350.00
